What are the differences between custom cabinets and modular cabinets like those at home improvements stores?

Custom cabinets provide a number of significant advantages and benefits:

• Higher quality materials including solid lumber doors and drawers (no particle board is used);
• Higher quality construction including dovetail joints, biscuit are used to secure FaceFrames;
• Higher quality hardware including hinges, guides, and pulls;
• Greater design freedom and flexibility in terms of style, wood choice and combinations, and layout of cabinets, and;
• Higher quality finishes - we use a catalyzed acrylic urethane that can hold up to years of wear and tear including water and cleaning detergents. Because it is acrylic it won't yellow with age and has UV stabilizers to maintain color.
• Custom prices are often comparable with modular cabinets while still providing many benefits.

Do your cabinets come in certain styles and sizes?

• Style is determined either by you or in collaboration with us or your builder/architect/interior designer.
• Kitchen cabinets and vanities often come in standards sizes. One of the benefits of custom cabinets is we are able to build to suite your individual needs.

What kind of woods are available to choose from?

Basically there are two broad types of woods sold in the United States - domestic (e.g., ash, birch, cherry, maple, oak, poplar, walnut) and foreign (e.g., anegre, ebony, wenge, zebra).

While both cabinets and furniture can be made from a wide variety of woods, there are a number of important differences in terms of construction.
